New Found Festivity: School Admission

'Right To Education' being added as a fundamental right of a child in 'Indian Constitution' (which was passed by the Indian parliament on 4 August 2009, describes the modalities of the provision of free and compulsory education for children between 6 and 14 in India under Article 21A of the Indian Constitution. India became one of 135 countries to make education a fundamental right of every child when the act came into force on 1 April 2010.) up to 'High School' level of education has taken a new dimension of a mass awareness in 'Chhattisgarh' state of India. Elected representatives are invited on the fist day of the school session to appeal the village masses and welcome the kids in a festival mood.

Admission of students from the previous class of 'Middle School' made compulsory by the state administration has resulted the kids and parents gathering a special occasion on the fist working day of July as an 'Admission Festival'.

Elected representative of the village were one to start this day with traditional worshiping of 'Learning Goddess' 'Sarswati'.

Admission seekers were welcomed with the 'Sweet' offers..

..and applying 'Bindi' on the forehead of students as part of an auspicious Indian gesture

..free books were given to each & one of the students. And thus we began our fist day of the school for the new academic session 2012-2013.
