2013 Nobel prize concert
Nobel Media, in association with the Stockholm Concert Hall, presented
the 2013 Nobel Prize Concert - an event of world class stature. The
concert was held on 8 December as part of the official Nobel Week
programme of activities.
Riccardo Muti conducted the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra in a
programme comprising Verdi’s “Le quattro stagioni” from Act III of I vespri siciliani (the Sicilian Vespers), Martucci’s Notturno Op. 70:1 and Respighi’s Pines of Rome.

In Memoriam: Nelson Mandela
Nelson Mandela was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993 together with Frederik Willem de Klerk for their work for the peaceful termination of the apartheid regime, and for laying the foundations for a new democratic South Africa. Nelson Mandela died on 5 December.
